Schönau an der Triesting

Only 20 miles from Vienna, lies the sleepy village of Schönau an der Triesting. With a population of only 2000, the village is in the middle of the wine growing region of the Weinviertel, and a twenty minute drive to the Spa town of Baden. No hectic nightlife here, but make sure to sample one of the half dozen "Heurige" in the village, where you will be warmly welcomed. Use Schönau as a base to take in the Weinviertler Weinstrasse, or take a train into Vienna for a day of shopping and sightseeing.
